STEP TOGETHER

Join us for a morning (or evening) of movement and meaningful connection! "Step Together" is designed to bring individuals, families, and friends together in a relaxed, supportive environment. This is an opportunity to build community through structured interaction. Whether you’re looking to meet others on a similar journey or simply want to enjoy a peaceful stroll, this event focuses on socialization and connection every step of the way.

**Please note: This is not a drop-off event and all Individuals are required to be accompanied by a caregiver.**

 

  • Low-Pressure Socializing: Engage in open-ended conversation with fellow community members while exploring a scenic walking path.

  • Structured Conversation Opportunities: For those interested, we will provide prompts to help facilitate conversations and help you to get to know others.

  • Supportive Environment: We offer a space that celebrates neurodiversity and provides opportunities for individuals of all abilities to interact comfortably.

  • Networking & Resources: Connect with other families and Individuals and learn more about Autism Society Greater Pittsburgh’s mission to support the autism community.

  • Adaptive activities: The walking path route can be adapted for your needs.

  • You Do You: Not interested in the walk? No problem! Come and participate in some activities or simply socialize with others.

  • Light Refreshments: We will provide light refreshments. Feel free to bring whatever makes you comfortable.

Where: South Park, Allegheny County – Ethelbert Pavillion (off of Corrigan Road). We will start our walk at the pavilion and will finish at the pavilion with refreshments (there are restrooms and a playground nearby).

 

When: June 24, 2026 - 10:00am and 7:00pm (to accommodate schedules, we are offering two different times – you may attend either or both!).

 

Who: Individuals on the Autism Spectrum of all ages and abilities and their friends, families, and caregivers.

The mission of the Autism Society Greater Pittsburgh is to provide support, education, information, and social connection to all individuals on the Autism Spectrum, across the lifespan, and their families, throughout the Greater Pittsburgh region.
